Happy heavenly birthday son,
Every day I wonder what kind of a man you would be and what you'd be doing, but never more than today on what would have been your 40th, an age that is the beginning of middle age, it'll be bittersweet joy to spend time with your mates as we raise a beer or two to you later, and indeed a privilege to call some of them my mates now, so I have some idea of how and what you'd be, but I always wonder exactly what you'd look like, if you'd be married, with kids and what job?.........
I have my own ideas on those questions of course but, they can forever only be imagined.
I know that I'd be intensely proud of you as I always have been,
I know you'd be kind and caring and supportive of your friends, because you always were.
I know you'd be cheeky still and full of life and that you'd make every day count.........................
I hope you're still kicking it up there.
